For my MAR 105 Lab I got to go out to Biddeford Pool with other people in my class so that was really fun. I got to look at all sorts of marine life that I don’t get to see on the coastline of Maryland so it was all really interesting to learn about! Even though it was in school we finished our lab early so we got to walk all along the rocks with my lab friends. I also got to go on a late night adventure with a few of the people on my floor! We went to Insomnia Cookies after I got off practice because I really wanted a cookie so we drove all the way to Portland at 8:30 at night. I’d say it was worth it. I had a lot of fun singing Katy Perry in the car and learning new things about the people in my dorm. Oh and I got 4 cookies if anyone’s wondering, I got S’mores, peanut butter chocolate chips, oatmeal and chocolate, and regular chocolate chip!

I went to Trivia night with my roommate and people on my floor in the commons. We stayed for all the rounds and we did our best with some really tough questions! What I found fun was that some of these questions were really detailed and had me digging in the depths of my brain to see if I could remember the answer. I would attend another similar event because I met a lot of new people and got to nerd out on how well I knew my shows and movies!

This Wednesday, my friend and I went to the open skate at the Forum. There were only three other people on the ice besides us, so we had a great time just skating around. I used to skate a lot back home, but it took me about a lap to get my balance back. The Forum Ice Rink will definitely be seeing me quite a bit this winter when I’m out of season!

One of my friends from the dorm had her first club field hockey game, and I got to go support her! They didn’t win, but they played really well, and it was so fun to watch and learn more about the sport. I found out that field hockey has unlimited substitutions, which I thought was wild, especially since in volleyball you’re only allowed 12 subs. That was a cool thing to learn!

Beyond the classroom
On Wednesday I was able to get away from studying and the school to go on a nature walk with some of the girls in my dorm. We went to Biddeford pool and walked some of the trails and along the roads for about 4 miles! I had a lot of fun house hunting although these homes are worth more than anything I’ll ever make it was still really nice to get off campus and enjoy the views!
